KOA - Starke, FL

The second time we went to St. Petersburg, FL to spend the winter we had to leave early. Hurricanes were roaming around in the Gulf of Mexico and one was expected to make land fall near us so we went north. Lot’s of “snow birds” just kept going north but we stopped in Starke, FL.

The KOA at Starke has an outstanding reputation with it’s long time customers and many return year after year. Their winter rates are very reasonable and affordable. And, they have location - except for the weekend traffic flow - as long as you know to plan around heavy traffic conditions.

The KOA offers all sorts of activities and discount tickets to popular area events. There are a lot of mom & pop restaurants offering “meat and three selections, all of the popular fast food places and some nice cozy wine and dinner places to enjoy with each other on a cool evening.

Just down the road a piece is the Waldo Farmers and Flea Market where you can spend a whole weekend browsing around and not see everything.
