American Legion Post #137 - Jacksonville, FL
A few years ago we started using this wonderful little RV Park behind the American Legion Post 137 on San Juan Ave. It has a total of 8 sites. Six with FHU and their local CATV hook-up. There are two more sites on the waterfront but no sewer connections. The only drawback is we’re limited to 30 amps. And, you can only stay 30 days at a time. At the 30 day mark you must leave for 24 hours then you can return for another 30 days if you want to. The whole CG is behind the main post building. Fenced-in and gated with an assigned entry number for members. There are two gated areas, one front and another in the back.
The RV park is situated on the waterfront with a paved boat launching area into Cedar River with just a short ride to the St. Johns River. There is a floating wharf and sea wall. The water in Cedar River is brackish so both fresh water and salt water fish can be caught there. We often catch some nice reds at high tide. Some grass shrimp may get you some nice sheep’s head from around the pylons at the bridge. I launch a small boat and get pan fish and bass up stream.
We like site #6 and always stay there if it’s open. No reservations, first come first serve. Here are some pictures from a couple of stays.
