When the winter months start to turn into spring in Arizona the northern ’Snowbirds” get antsy and start north leaving a lot of really nice RV Parks nearly empty. For us it was just time to move to a higher elevation from our winter stop in Yuma and stay another month in an area loaded with sights to behold for the first time.
Our traveling companions were with us on this stop at Camp Verde. We had done our home work well. The Rancho Verde RV Park was an outstanding base camp for our numerous side trips in the are. Way off the major highways and roads it presented a quiet family atmosphere. The owners/managers - that live on the grounds - were gracious hosts at all times during our month long stay.
The park offers two levels for parking. The lower one has a bubbling stream thru it. The upper level is much easier to park in and get satellite TV reception so we stayed there. We also got to park side by side there.
The area is about 3200 feet above sea level and did not give us any problems. Trivia: Worlds largest Kokopelli is there.
